NCCFC will team to support Barnardo’s in the 2025 CARTEN Bike Ride
Are you looking for an exciting challenge in 2025? North Cardiff Cosmos Football Club (NCCFC) is forming a team to take part in the legendary CARTEN bike ride on Saturday, 10th May 2025—and we want YOU to join us!
Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or a beginner, this is the perfect opportunity to get involved, challenge yourself, and raise money for a fantastic cause. The CARTEN 100-mile ride runs between Cardiff and Tenby over the course of 10 hours, with the goal of raising as much money as possible for charity while enjoying a fun and memorable experience.
Why CARTEN?
The CARTEN ride is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and supportive community, and it’s a great way to stay fit while making a real difference. This year, NCCFC is proud to fundraise for Barnardo’s, a charity dedicated to helping vulnerable children and young people across the UK.
Our very own Sarah Rowe, the lead coach for girls’ football at NCCFC, works for Barnardo’s, which makes this fundraising event even more meaningful for us.
What’s Involved in the CARTEN Ride?
The ride covers 109 miles from Cardiff to Tenby, and cyclists typically take 10 hours to complete the journey. But it’s not just about the ride itself—it’s about coming together as a team, pushing ourselves, and raising vital funds for Barnardo’s.
- Registration: To join the ride, you’ll need to register through the official CARTEN website. The entry fee is £72, and you also have the option to purchase a CARTEN race jersey for an additional cost.
- Fundraising: Once registered, the next step is to raise funds for Barnardo’s. We will work together as a team to gather sponsorship and make a meaningful impact for children across the UK.
Training for the CARTEN 100
To ensure we’re ready for the ride, we’ll be forming a training group that will kick off in January 2025. We know that everyone has different schedules, so our training sessions will be flexible, allowing participants to train at times that suit them. By training together, we can encourage each other and build the support we need to succeed on the day of the event.

- Start Training: Once you’ve registered, we’ll connect you with other participants and begin our training sessions in January 2025.
